President’s Message for March 2021

Tuesday, 2 March 2021 | View:

We celebrate Rotaract Week from the 8th to the 14th of March 2021. Rotaractors are the next generation of Rotary. With effective partnerships and cross-collaboration, we can together serve stronger.

Through the generous cash donations of Rotarians and Friends of Rotary, and our joint sponsor, My Food Society Club, we shared the joy of “Chicken Soup For Our Soul” with the elderly residents from Lee Ah Mooi Home, MIRANTI Nursing Home, Sree Nararyan Home, Peacehaven Nursing Home, and Angsana Home @Pelangi Village. The purpose of this “Chicken Soup For Our Soul” project is to spread love, comfort, and care to as many people as we can during this Chinese New Year period.

We had a successful celebration of World Understanding and Peace Day on the 23rd of February. This saw the coming together of all Rotary Clubs in District 3310. Although the communication channel was virtual, the bonds that we built were ever stronger.

Our newest member, Rotarian Cindy Yen will be leading an effort to explore vocational service activities with the youth of Spectra School. We successfully attained our target to raise US$45,000 to fund the Safe Water Gardens Global Grant project which we submitted for approval. A big thank you to all of our donors and the tremendous efforts put in by our members and partners. We eagerly await approval from the grants committee.

Past President Richard Ong will be coordinating Project Happy Meals at SWAMI Home to provide meals to the residents of the nursing home on the 5th of March. A tremendous effort to bring joy to the residents of the nursing home. PP Ching Kwock Wing moderated a panel discussion to explore how Rotary-Toastmasters Alliance can help Rotarians and Rotaractors advance and acquire new skills and how communication and public speaking skills are significant to personal and professional development for the Rotaractors. This was a great discussion that generated great ideas.

Let’s look forward to another great month ahead.

Sincerely,
Eddie Ho, President
Rotary E-Club of 3310
